Using Blog Comments For Linking

If you hope to get ranked on Google, Yahoo, MSN and so on, you must generate links to your site. There are a host of strategies for doing this. In this article, we take a look at how to make blog comments to generate them.

Blogging is a field unto its own, but has become very popular through the last few years for one particularly reason – it is very easy. With systems like WordPress, you can be up and running in a matter of minutes. Alas, most blogs take comments as well which means that you, the reader and link seeker, can take advantage of them as well to generate links back to your site.

If you want to get a link back from a blog to your site, the process is simple. You just need to read the blog and submit a relevant comment. I own over 35 blogs and I can’t tell you how horrific the comments are that are submitted to me. They usually don’t even have anything to do with the subject of my site. I trash all of them. In contrast, I always post a comment that reflects the fact the person actually read my blog and considered the position taken. This should be a lesson to you. Don’t spam blogs. Write something relevant and submit it. You will almost always get it accepted and generate a link to your site.

The second issue is picking blogs. Links are only really valuable to you if they are from relevant sites. Pick blogs that are relevant to the subject matter of your site. If you blog is about radio controlled vehicles, you should look for blogs about radio controlled cars, trains, trucks, planes and so on. Five links from these sites are worth far more than 100 links from unrelated sites. Again, be picky!

How many links do you need from blogs? Well, you should always be picking them up. Try scheduling a couple hours a week to search and submit comments to build links and you’ll be fine.
